2013 News

Although it's almost exactly a year until our next Stirling Gang Show, work goes on in the background.  

Susanne Bell is taking a rest this year, perhaps to move on to pastures new. We will be welcoming Catriona Lang to teach the cast how to sing the songs.  Catriona was a member of our Gang for 8 Shows during the eighties and nineties.   She now teaches singing.

Many of our producers are also returning and we welcome back Amanda Clark who took a break for a few years.  Jennifer Ward is joining us to take on the task of directing the Brownies and Cubs.

The programme is starting to come together with the help of some suggestions made by cast members.  Robin Hood is expected to make an appearance and there will be a trip to America and, perhaps, some ghosties.    Lizzie, Douglas and Andy will be involved with this year's producing.

We hope that you will want to be part of the 2013 Stirling Gang.  More news will follow at the end of this year

The Show dates have been changed.  It will now take place during the week commencing 29 September 2013.

Provisional Dates :
Main Gang Auditions - Sat 9 & Sun 10 March
First Rehearsal Sun 17 March
Brownie & Cub Auditions - Sun 11 May

Ideas for 2013

If you have suggestions for consideration for our next Show then post them on Stirling Gang Show's Facebook page.   Ideas might be about a theme for a number or a suggestion of a specific song.   This is your chance to put forward ideas.   Some of last year's suggestions were in the 2012 Show so why not give it a go!

Well that was quite a week and I'm sure that everyone is exhausted.   The whole of the Gang performed very well last week and you all deserve a break but don't forget Saturday's Disco.  7pm - 9.30pm for Brownies and Cubs and 7.30pm - 10.30pm for Guides, Scouts and Explorers.

Many of you will, we hope, be keen to come back for the 2013 Stirling Gang Show.  This provisionally takes place during the week beginning Monday 28 October 2013.

Gang Show Week

The forecast for this week is Good !!!   Everyone is looking good, even John Buchan was seen wandering around his garden in the dark muttering away to himself - It is rumoured that he was learning his lines.

The stage crew spent yesterday working hard in the theatre and more work will be done today to get it ready for your arrival.   The doors will be open from 6pm and you must be ready to go onstage at 6.30pm in costume for The Opening.   From tomorrow (Tuesday) the doors open at 6.30pm every night and you should arrive no later than 6.45pm

Next Rehearsal : Saturday 10 March

This is the date for the next Cub & Brownie rehearsal; 2pm - 3.30pm at Beechwood.

It is also the final rehearsal for the main Gang and for them lasts from 2pm - 6.30pm

After that all activities move to the theatre.  All the details for this are in the green information sheet.  It also gives details of the Disco for all members of the Junior and Senior Gangs.

Tickets & Miscellaneous

The Gang Show Box Office has now closed and tickets can only be obtained from the MacRobert Box Office.   There are only a few tickets left and you are urged not to delay if you still want tickets.  Please be flexible as to which performance you can attend.

Rehearsals are proceeding as advised in the latest information leaflets.   Pay particular attention to the green information sheet which contains most of what you need to know about our time in the theatre.

It is most important that you attend the remaining rehearsals and you are reminded that you agreed to attend them when you completed your membership form many months ago.

Candy Store

Thursday 23 February, 7pm - 9pm is the final rehearsal for this number.  You must be there!  If not then you cannot be in the number since there is no extra time set aside for it.

Extra Rehearsals

Sun 19th Feb : 2pm - 3pm  Panto Magic.   This is in addition to other scheduled rehearsals.

Thursday 23 Feb :  7pm - 9pm in Guide Hut.   Candy Store.  This is the final rehearsal for this number.  You must be present to be in the number. 

Remember you should plan to be present for the full rehearsal time oin Sundays until the Show.

Sunday 12 February

This week the rehearsal will last from 2pm to 4pm only.   The main items to be tackled are I Spy and the Finale.   Instructions for the Bag Pack will also be finalised.

Sunday Rehearsals + Costumes

Everyone should now attend the whole of every Sunday rehearsal with the exception of the first session which will proceed as listed in the schedule.   It is not possible to forecast which individual numbers will be rehearsed as it is now time to polish the whole Show and deal with any problems.

Those who were unable to make the recent Costume Fittings must attend the Scout Hall from 6.30pm on Tuesday 7 February.   Don;'t forget to bring the items you will provide yourself.   There will be no other opportunity to get your costumes !

Photocalls

If you are a Cub or a Brownie don't forget to be there just before 4pm on Saturday 14 January in uniform to have a group picture taken.
