Thursday 8 December

Tonight's rehearsal is cancelled due to the extreme weather that has been forecast.   Can you spread the word to your friends who may not have seen this post or the email.   We'll let you know when the rescheduled rehearsal will take place - hopefully on a Thursday in January.

Rehearsal Attendance

Don't forget that it is important that you attend the rehearsals for all the items you are in.  We realise that there are sometimes very valid reasons why you have to miss a rehearsal but you must remember that your absence, for whatever reason, may cause a difficulty for others.   If you miss the final rehearsal for a production (large) item then it is not normally possible for you remain in that number as there is no rehearsal time left for that item.   Additionally, the Producer may not have time for an extra rehearsal nor may the rest of the cast.   This doesn't affect your participation in the rest of the Show.   

EXTRA REHEARSAL

If you are taking part in Candy Store then there is an extra rehearsal planned for Thursday 8th December, 7pm - 9pm.   This is because the rehearsals for this item are not moving fast enough.   Don't forget that there is also a rehearsal for this item on Thursday 1st December.  Both rehearsals are in the same venue.  There will be confirmation of this on Sunday.

Saturday & Sunday

Cub and Brownies have their Audition Workshops on Saturday at 4pm.  You do not need to prepare a "party piece".  The first rehearsal is on Sunday 27 November with the Main Gang.

The main Gang will meet as usual on Sunday for I Spy.   Those taking part in Teething Trouble must meet at the church hall at the revised time of 2pm, lasting until 3pm.

New Rehearsal Schedule

A revised schedule (yellow) will be available on Sunday.   Don't forget to collect a copy.    Booking forms will also be available

Sunday Rehearsals

If you have to rehearse in a venue other than the main venue on a Sunday, please meet at the main venue first for registration.

Sunday 6th November

Dancers for The Opening are needed at 2pm.  Rest of cast for The Opening should be there and ready to start at 3pm.   Please note this is a slightly earlier time than that listed in the rehearsal schedule.

Dance Auditions

Well done everyone who took part in the auditions on Tuesday evening.  You all worked very hard - I was tired just watching !    We'll let you know the results on Sunday before rehearsing starts.   Don't forget that we are rehearsing The Opening on Sunday and this finishes at 6pm.   Mamma Knows Best will then rehearse for 30 minutes.

Rehearsal change

Please change the following rehearsal on your schedules to read :
27 November   La-Di-Da-Di-Da   5pm - 6pm  (same venue).   Although you'll miss some of the singing for Dragons you can pick it up quickly if you know the lyrics.

Sunday 23 October

The following Gang members do not need to come along until we start singing The Opening at 5.45pm as they are cast in numbers either side of Jungle Boogie :  17, 21, 38, 56, 61, 72, 73, 87.
Nos 50 & 91 do not need to come in at all on Sunday as they are also cast in item 2.

You can pick up your casting sheets when you come in or, if you choose, you can look in for the first 15 minutes when the casting is given out.

Casting

Thanks to everyone who came to Sunday's casting.   There was a very good turnout and everyone did very well.   We are now looking at the results as well as the results from the singing auditions and should be able tto announce the results at this Sunday's rehearsal.   Remember to be there from 1.45pm so that we can start sharp at 2pm.   It finishes at 6.30pm (see rehearsal schedule). 

We still have the Dance Auditions to come on Tuesday 25th October.   Most of the specific parts will then be filled although there may be an opportunity to to be part of small singing groups in the large numbers if the individual producers decide that this is necessary.  They will mainly be picked from people who attended the singing auditions.

Casting Sessions

Casting sessions for speaking parts are being held on Sunday 16 October.   Members of the cast were asked to attend either Session 1 (2pm - 3.30pm) or Session 2 (3.15pm - 5pm).  If you wish to try for a speaking part and can't manage the session you were allocated then please come to the other session.  You will be provided with a script to read.

Due to school holidays, the next full rehearsal is on Sunday 23rd October when we hope to give you the casting results.

Casting Auditions

Parts for sing solo or in small groups will be auditioned from 8pm - 9pm on Tuesday 4 October.   Speaking parts (sketches, etc) will be auditioned  between 2pm and 4.30pm on Sunday 16 October.   Leaflet being issued on Sun 2 October will give more information.

Dance Auditions

The date for Dance Auditions, as given in the newsletter, has been changed to Tuesday 25 October to avoid clashing with Clackmannan school holidays

Invitations

Invitations were mailed out today to all members of the 2010 Gang.  Contact Scott if you have not received it by Friday.

2012 Programme

The programme for our next production is nearing completion.   We'll be visiting Ireland, getting lost in the Jungle, looking for Dragons and celebrating the music of Queen.  Sketches will transport you to the cold north or perhaps a flight to sunnier climes - if you dare use this airline !
Invitations to 2010 Gang members will be posted out in the last week of August.

Junior Gang Workshop

The date for the Audition Workshop for Cubs and Brownies has been brought forward to Saturday 19 November in the Queen Street Scout Hall.   More information will be circulated to Packs in October

Workshops

Notes are being sent out to all Scout and Guide groups with advance notice of the Gang Show Workshops.    This will allow plenty of time for word to be spread around about this activity in September.   We want as many people as possible to attend so please spread the word around your Scout and Guide friends.    Invitations to rejoin the Gang will be sent to members of the 2010 (senior) Gang in late August.   Until then have a great summer !

2012 Gang Show Dates

The 2012 Stirling Gang Show will be held in the MacRobert Arts Centre, Stirling during the week commencing Sunday 12 March 2012.

2012 - Provisional Dates

This year we will be holding Gang Show Workshops rather than Auditions.   There will be two of them on Friday 23 September (7.30pm - 9pm) and Sunday 25 September (2pm - 3.30pm).   These are Gang Show experiences for everyone whether or not they wish to join the Gang.   If any one does wish to join the main Gang for the 2012 Gang Show then they should attend one of these Workshops.   To keep the numbers at a manageable level we ask that members of the 2010 Gang do not attend these workshops.

Members of the 2010 Gang will receive invitations in late August to rejoin the Gang.   The first rehearsal is expected to be on Sunday 2 October.

A special Workshop for the Junior Gang (Cubs & Brownies) will be held on Saturday 26 November.   Again this is open to all Cubs and Brownies to come along.    Anyone who wishes to be in the 2012 Junior Gang should attend this Workshop.   Members of the 2010 Junior Gang are not automatically invited to rejoin either the Junior or main Gangs.
